19th Century Thick Walnut Cutting Board
About the Item
Extremely heavy spade shaped walnut cutting board. Very thick carved wood that has the quality of sculpture. This piece has an elemental and organic feel that is hard to catch on film, reminiscent of the forms of tribal carving or the sculptures of Constantin Brancusi. Acquired years ago from New York's famed Kutner's Prop Rentals, for decades the go to prop house for hundreds of movies and television programs. Fragmentary label has been left on the board.
