This is a bonsai creation by Japanese artist Yumiko Kuwahata. It is made from washi paper, clay, and fabric. The ceramic vessels are personally selected by the artist, who visits kilns to choose the pieces that best suit each work. --- Camellia Fruit A single fruit and a few remaining leaves create a wabi-sabi aesthetic. Served in a handmade bowl from Shibakatsu Kiln in Tokoname. --- [Yumiko Kuwahata] Born in Aichi Prefecture in 1957. Began creating art in 1989. She expresses the rustic charm found in seasonal fruits, flowers, and wild plants, as well as in moss-covered soil and insect-eaten leaves, through her creations using Japanese paper, cloth, and clay.
