About

Malachite Quartz on copper base. Studio Greytak’s Malachite Quartz on copper base opens the door for world-changing action, protected from nay-sayers and charmed by the divine. Malachite, from the Greek word for “mallow” because of its leaf-like color, is found in the altered zones of copper deposits all over the world. Possibly the earliest ore of copper, it has been called one of the most important minerals in the history of humankind. In 4000 BC, it was discovered that heating malachite over a hot fire reduced it to native copper, and metallurgy was born. Energetically, the Italians had it right. They wore eyes of malachite to ward off evil spirits. Malachite is one of the strongest stones for protection against negative energy. It also enhances willpower and strengthens our ability to take action on our thoughts and ideas. Malachite carries the frequency of the enlightened leader and reminds us of our power to manifest with the Universe. Quartz has many varieties, from the water-clear rock crystal to purple amethyst and banded agate. Formed millions of years ago under extreme geologic pressure, quartz crystals often grow together in clusters. But their most amazing feature is their ability to convert mechanical energy into electricity and vice versa. When you squeeze quartz, it generates an electric charge. When you pass electricity through a crystal it squeezes itself and vibrates back and forth. This effect, called Piezoelectricity from the Greek piezein “to push,” creates a kind of battery with a positive charge on one face and a negative charge on the other. When you press the switch on a gas barbecue, it squeezes a piezoelectric crystal, which generates a voltage and makes the spark that starts the flame. The reverse action is how quartz watches keep such accurate time. This amazing physical energy translates just as powerfully to the metaphysical world. Since antiquity, traditional healers have called quartz the “master healer” because it amplifies the power of other elements nearby and because it can be programmed by focusing intention upon it. This allows one to achieve virtually any goal. Clear quartz is a stone of light providing a clear path for higher vibrations from spiritual realms to the physical world. Copper is most likely the first metal used by humans. One of the few metals that occur in nature without needing extraction from an ore, it was used as a substitute for stone as early as 8000 BC. Copper is a soft, malleable metal with very high thermal and electrical conductivity. For healers, it is the metal of the magician and can carry the energies of stones as easily as it carries electricity. Copper is known for its beautiful reddish-brown color that oxidizes into a greenish patina. It is also known for its medicinal properties. Ancient Egyptians used copper for sterilizing wounds and drinking water, while in India, copper was used in Ayurveda for surgical instruments and other medical equipment. It is an essential dietary mineral for all living organisms. Copper is helpful for strengthening the respiratory and cardiovascular systems in humans. Spiritually, copper is considered a conduit between Heaven and Earth. It is the metal of channeling energies and transforms the invisible to the visible. Copper encourages experimentation and invention and brings the energy of revolutionary ideas and unexpected serendipitous change. Place this piece in an open environment where it’s amplified power will inspire you to take action, without fear or danger.
