Pair of Chinese Qing Dynasty 20th Century Small Hand Painted Terracotta Statues

About the Item

A pair of Qing dynasty 20th century terracotta Chinese hooded priestess sculptures with original paint. Crafted in China during the Qing dynasty (1644-1912), these small hollow statues each depict a standing priestess wearing a dress with a hood, her hands joined on her chest. The round face and the clothes evoke a woman of the Mongolian steppes area and the statue may echo pieces of the earlier Tang dynasty. With their petite proportions, traces of original paint and nicely weathered patina, these Qing terracotta priestess statues will make for exquisite decorative additions to any home, perhaps displayed on a shelf, atop a commode or side table. They are shown with item LU863918103252 on image 4, with whom they are making a lovely vignette should you decide to purchase it as well (item sold separately).
