A fine and impressive antique Victorian sterling silver pin cushion modelled in the form of two swans; an addition to our animal related silverware collection. This fine antique Victorian sterling silver pin cushion has been realistically modelled in the form of two swans. The hallmarked sterling silver body is embellished with embossed fluted ornamentation reproducing the details of each bird's plumage and facial features. The swan ornamentation envelopes the original navy colored cushion. This antique silver pin cushion is supported by an impressive plain oval pedestal foot. Period pieces retaining the original cushion bodies are becoming increasingly difficult to locate and a piece which incorporates two swan figurines is reasonably rare. Condition This antique pin cushion is an exceptional gauge of silver for its type, exceptional quality and in exceptional condition. The cushion shows sign of wear in keeping with age and use.
