About the Item
VG is dedicating a collection of ceramics to the genius of Coco Chanel, a leading figure in the story of modern fashion, and a designer who created a style famous for its simplicity and elegance. So she chose the camellia as her emblem, a flower which combines elegance and simplicity, transience and artifice. The Coco collection from VG is characterised by its soft, linear designs, making a great virtue out of its essential shapes.
With its linear design and elegant form, the Palladio collection takes its name from the great Italian Renaissance architect who gave the Veneto region so many splendid villas and beautiful buildings, a lasting legacy of his architectural genius. This collection has been created in Bassano ceramic, using a warp and weft technique. It takes its inspiration from Coco Chanel’s jackets, where the coarse fibres of wool, silk and cotton are interwoven in a deceptively simple way, ensuring they are still a best seller for the fashion house. This is an object which exemplifies the history and expertise of Italian workmanship.
