French Three Piece Jardinière Garniture of the Empire Period

About the Item

A Three Piece Jardinière Garniture of the Empire Period Constructed in tole, being hand painted and decorated in the French Empire Neo-Classical manner of Jacques-Louis David; the bases decorated in faux marble, the central, larger jardinière of oblong everted form, rising from winged paw feet, and dressed with lion mask handles, being flanked by square vases of a similar form. With later zinc removable liners. The Neoclassical scenes depict female and male figures, children, flying cupids, and a dog set within unique landscape settings. Dimensions: Jardinière: H: 11.5 in / 29 cm W: 15 in / 38 cm D: 10 in / 26 cm. Pair vases: H: 17.5 in / 44 cm W: 9.5 in / 24 cm D: 9.5 in / 24 cm.
