Minton English Majolica Daisy and Trellis 2-Piece Jardinière on Stand circa 1875

About the Item

An excellent quality Minton Majolica ‘Daisy and Trellis’ Jardinière on its stand, England, circa 1875. The jardinière shows a pattern of a climbing trellis against a maroon stippled ground. A band of large acanthus leaves ring the base, the top edge shows a repeated daisy and pink ribbon running pattern. The petal edged under plate shows a trellis radiating from a central stylized daisy. The border again shows the repeated daisy and pink ribbon design. Both the interior of the pot and verso of the stand are glazed in a beautiful jade green. Both pieces are marked as shown, Minton 875 A. Measures: Jardinière 8.25 in. diameter x 7 in. height Under plate 8.75 in. diameter x .75 in. Very minor glaze wear to the bottom rim of the pot, otherwise incredible antique condition.
