This elegant and unusual fruitwood table was created in Spain, circa 1800. The ornate, round table features four turned legs with crossed stretcher and center carved finial. The round top has a removable brass tray with intricate brass handles decorated with dolphins and cherubs, and repousse floral motifs throughout. The surface is further embellished with decorative brass nailheads. In its original use, this kind of "Brasero" table (from the French term "Brasier"), was used as a heater.
