19th Century French Hand Painted Faience Ewer Vase from Boulogne
About the Item
This tall, antique "Aiguiere" (ewer) was sculpted in Normandy, France, circa 1860. Standing on four small feet, this delicate, ornate terracotta pitcher has one large handle, a sloped spout, four feet and an elegant shape overall. The colorful vase features a decorative coat of arms with crown and centre crest on one side, and a hand painted flower basket on the other side. The jar is in excellent condition and has markings on the bottom with Boulogne-sur-Mer (a city in northern France).
