About the Item

This vase is a splendid example of Bitossi ceramics, produced by the Italian manufacturer in the 1960s and 1970s, part of the "Rimini Blu" line designed by Aldo Londi. Main features: Shape: Cylindrical, tall, and slender, with the base and neck slightly narrower than the central body. Color: Predominantly intense blue (typical of the Rimini series), with hues ranging from turquoise to midnight blue, achieved using reactive crystalline techniques. Texture: Rough, sgraffito-engraved surface, with layers of black engobe under the blue glaze, creating a rich tactile and visual effect. Decoration: Two horizontal bands in relief with stylized geometric and symbolic motifs (squares, triangles, crosses, circles, broken lines), engraved and glazed in bright blue on a dark background. These decorations are typical of Aldo Londi's style, inspired by Etruscan art and ancient craftsmanship. Finish: matte and textured in the black parts, glossy and iridescent in the blue areas.
