Antique American Art Nouveau Sterling Silver & Loetz Phaenomen Art Glass Vase

About the Item

A fine Art Nouveau silver mounted art glass vase. Comprising a Loetz Phaenomen glass body in yellow with a silvery-blue iridescence and an Art Nouveau hand hammered Martelé type silver mounts by the Hartford Sterling Company of Philadelphia, PA. The vase is likely the product of a collaborative effort between the Loetz glass company and the Hartford Sterling Company. The mounts appear to be secured with plaster, and the base wiggles slightly. All in all, simply a wonderful Art Nouveau / Jugendstil vase! Date: Early 20th Century, circa 1900 Overall Condition: It is in overall good, as-pictured, used estate condition with no chips, cracks, or repairs. Condition Details: The base is secured with plaster and has a slight wiggle at the joint. There are some light bends to the silver and a few spots of persistent tarnish here and there. Otherwise, there are some fine & light surface scratches and other signs of expected light wear consistent with age. Maker: Loetz and Hartford Silver Company. Marks: Marked to the top silver mount withe Hartford Sterling Company maker's mark and sterling and Sterling to the bottom mount. Measurements: Height: ca. 13 3/4 in. Diameter: ca. 4 in.
