Canal vase by Purho Dimensions: D15 x H58 cm Materials: Murano glass Available in other colors. Canal is a vase from the Laguna Collection designed by Ludovica+Roberto Palomba for Purho in spring 2022. Like the canals of the Venetian lagoon, twisted, flexed, characterized by sudden bends and curves, but also by the gentle ripples of the water, so Canal — a vase that owes its core form to the basic cylindrical shape — acquires personality thank to the undulating and apparently imperfect glass surfaces. Made of Murano glass in iridescent colours and sandblasted finishes, Canal completes the other artefacts of the Laguna Collection: a composite set of organic forms, apparently imperfect cylinders, voluminous bowls, lavish bags which fold onto themselves, in which fthe ormal flow is interrupted only by the engraving on two of the vases. A departure for a collection that is a tribute to Murano and the lagoon that surrounds it. Purho is a new protagonist of made in Italy design , a work of synthesis, a research that has lasted for years, an Italian soul and an international character, thematic collections of Murano glass objects , designed by great designers, made by great glass masters. Purho expresses the identity and the original vocation of design: to create “fairytale objects ”, vases, lights, glasses and other glasses capable of living forever in space and time in a correct, magical and ultra-functional way. Purho was born from an untouchable, divine concept-word, purity, contaminated by material factors, earth, air, fire, water, enriched by the human factor, that h which indicates humanitas , i.e. transience, perfection of imperfection, uniqueness. Purho is the materialization of an aspiration , a tension towards imperfect perfection, that is, a radically, profoundly human drive.
