Danish Mid-Century Modern Handblown Glass Vase by Otto Brauer for Holmegaard

About the Item

This stunning Scandinavian Mid-Century Modern vase was designed by the esteemed Otto Brauer and handblown by Holmegaard in Denmark, circa 1960. The piece features a cylindrical body with curved shoulders that ascends into a slender cylindrical neck before flaring at its mouth, executed in mottled white glass. At the base, there is a stunning hand embellished detailing resembling the gestural strokes of an abstract Expressionist painting (such as a vibrant Jackson Pollock) in tones of sapphire and emerald. With its sophisticated palate and clean lines, this piece would be a winning addition to any style of interior from Classic Mid-Century Modern to contemporary. It would also be a fabulous gift for any avid glass collector of the period. Excellent condition. Denmark, circa 1960 Dimensions: 17.25" height x 6.75" diameter.
