Elegant Swedish Art Deco Pewter Vase by GAB, Sweden, 1939

About the Item

A refined Swedish pewter vase produced by GAB Guldsmedsaktiebolaget in Stockholm during the late 1930s. Executed in solid pewter, the vase features a restrained yet sculptural Art Deco silhouette with softly fluted sides, a scalloped rim, and a stepped circular foot. The elegant proportions and understated detailing reflect the sophisticated functionalist aesthetic associated with Scandinavian modern design of the period. The softly aged pewter surface has developed a beautiful natural patina over time, enhancing the vase’s muted metallic tone and giving the piece exceptional depth and character. Minimal and architectural in form, it works equally well as a standalone decorative object or as a vessel for floral arrangements. Stamped to the underside: “GAB Tenn / Svenskt Tennvara / Stockholm” confirming authenticity and Swedish origin. A timeless example of early Scandinavian modern pewter design with strong Art Deco influence.
