Japanese Antique wabi sabi Pottery vase 1860s-1900s / Flower Vase vessel mingei

About the Item

This is an old large Japanese pottery. It is from the Meiji period (1860s-1900s). The entire pottery is covered with paper. It has a wooden lid (the lid is further covered with paper and tied with string). This large vase was used to transport and store tea leaves. It is covered with paper to protect it from moisture. The paper is black and beautifully abstract. Very rare. Weight: approx. 20 kg
