Japanese Blue Red Gold Platinum Porcelain Vase by Contemporary Master Artist

About the Item

Extraordinary Japanese contemporary museum-quality decorative porcelain vase, extremely intricately hand painted in red on a stunningly shaped globular body in deep dark blue and gilded with high purity platinum and gold, a signed masterpiece by highly acclaimed second-generation master porcelain artist of the Imari-Arita region of southern Japan. This artist is widely celebrated for his extremely complicated geometric patterns that apply the most sophisticated and demanding techniques of miniature painting to the complex and curved surfaces of porcelain pieces. The artist's profile is available upon request. This breathtaking porcelain vase features two round medallions that showcase painstakingly intricate gradation patterns in deep red and deep dark blue. The placement of the gilded lines is carefully calibrated to maximize the response to changes in the lighting and to create a constantly shifting kaleidoscope-like effect. To draw the viewer ever deeper into its whirling pattern, the focal point of the design has been placed slightly north of center to grab and hold the eye. This unique gilded hand painted porcelain vase comes in a custom made wooden case signed by the artist. Dimensions: H 11 in, D 9.5 in.
