About the Item

This beautiful blown glass tall vase created by glass artist Richard Price, is a jewel for the interior. Translucent color patterns like blue, green, orange, red and white are playing the eye. It is a unique piece that comes with a certificate of authenticity. Although it's a large vase, it is elegant and stylish. The style refers to the Italian and Venetian glass artisan tradition like the Murano glass. At the beginning of his career Richard was the assistant of the Italian glass artist Lino Taglapietra, which explains the Italian influence in his work. The shades of purple, blue, orange and white are beautifully combined in this round vessel. The style of this blown glass vase is modern and a perfect decorative piece for almost any kind of interior. It can be used as a real eye catcher as well as a color coordinated item that will blend into the style concept. UK born Richard Price, is a graduate from the Gerrit Rietveld Art Academy in Amsterdam and divides his time between his studio's in Amsterdam and Thailand. His exceptional technical knowledge and capabilities, make him one of the best glassblowers in Europe. Richard worked as an assistant for the world-famous glass artist Lino Taglapietra as well as for the extraordinary Dale Chihuly. Both artists can be regarded as fundamental for the incredibly versatile technical spectrum Richard controls. The works that Richard Price creates in his Amsterdam studio are very different from the ones that he creates in Thailand and vise-versa. His Amsterdam creations are cosmopolitan, abstract, colorful and elegant. The pieces that are created in Thailand are more modest, less colorful and clearly influenced by local culture and in particular Buddhism. Richard Price has received several awards for his work, including the Honorary Prize "World Glass Now '91", by the Hokkaido Museum of Modern Art, Sapporo, Japan and the Staatspreis des Landes Baden-Würtemberg für Europaïscher Kunsthandwerk, Stuttgart, Germany (German state price for best European handcrafted artwork).
