Beautiful large hand turned "Paquime Pottery" black vase / olla by Lydia Quezada for Mata Ortiz, circa 2000s. The piece has exquisite detail and a unique top portion; it is in very good condition with no chips or cracks and measures a substantial 7"D x 12"H. #2139 The black pot is the signature style of Lydia Quezada Celado who is Juan Quezada's youngest sister. Lydia is one of the top potters from Mata Ortiz and won second place in the "Black Clay Category" of the 23rd Mata Ortiz Concurso in 2020. This is an excellent high quality piece!

    Manantial Vase by Omar Ortiz, 2021 Dimensions: H21 x W10cm Materials: Volcanic stone, black clay. Is a vase that is held off the ground by a hand-carved stone base. The vase resists fire below 950 degrees so it can be used to burn charcoal inside it or incense or contain water for flowers and plants. The vase made of black Oaxacan clay filters a very light humidity through its walls, which are cooked at a low temperature with wood and not glaze. The base of Manantial is made of volcanic stone known as recinto.
