Pair of Crackled Black Iridescent Vases with Avventurina Stripe by Sergio Rossi
About the Item
Two beautiful organic shaped crackled glass, with a spiral of avventurina to coordinate the finish into a grid. Unlevelled natural top. Deep iridescence.
These two oval vessels, made with crackled finish (ghiaccio) but striped with avventurina so that the cracks are in a sort of grid. Deep iridescence makes the tall vase take on an almost blue reflection, while the smaller one has a rose hue.
The mouth is “spacco naturale” the breaking from the punty is hand levelled and polished so that it appears wavy. A special touch on an organically shaped vessel.
Made in the mid-1980s, the result of a study on iridescence and naturally shaped pieces. Should be sold in pairs.
Base reads and other identifications, references: one vase carries the old “made in Murano” label. No signature on the base. Manufacturing quality, the kind of glass and material used identifies the maker as Sergio Rossi.
Measures: Height 38 cm, about 15 in for the taller vase; 27 cms, 11 in for the lower vase
