Pair of red-figure black-ground vases, 1810-1850, Italy, Terracotta, Grand Tour Pair of red-figure black-ground vases circa 1810-1850 from Italy probably Naples or Sicilia. One vase shows Zeus, with his flashes in the hand, in a chariot. Bellerophon and Chimera are the protagonist on the other vase. Bellerophon is riding on the flying horse Pegasus while he is aiming with his javelin on the behemoth Chimera.
