This model was presented by Venini at the 9th Milan Triennale in 1951 and is considered as the first examples of the “a scozzese” (Scottish) series imagined by Bianconi.
Twisted canes or ‘fasce ritorte’ in Italian language are seldom seen, they are highly representative of the work of Bianconi in terms of style, design and play with colors.
Technically speaking, the shape and the wall itself was obtained by bringing the canes together and hot melding them.
This technique can be noticed with the wavy rim of this beautiful Bianconi Venini vase.
We can say this is an early example, very light in terms of weight with the thin red line compared to the other one. Very nice tension and movement.
Similar examples were exhibited in Milan for the 9Th Triennale in 1951. The same year in Stockholm at Nordiska Kompaniet, which exhibited it also in 1952.
In Copenhagen in 1953, but also in London at Liberty shop.
