2010s Vases

One of a kind, hand sculpted and carved ceramic stoneware sculptural vessel by Keavy Murphree. This sturdy and substantial vase is inspired by the architectural style of Louis Sullivan. Robust double handles are adorned with carved leaves and a nautilus (symbolizing renewal and order.) Handles are placed on either side of the gourd-like vessel. A large carved shield decorates the front. The top and bottom of the vessel share a robust, rounded lip. This intricate vase is complimented by a cream, satin glaze. This piece is from a collection of work made by the artist in the first half of 2022 for her premier solo exhibition titled, "Spring Return."
