Porcelain manufactory SANDIZELL / Porzellanfabrik Sandizell, Höffner & Co. was founded in 1951 in the town of the same name Sandizell, Bavaria. The factory employed many qualified employees who moved to Bavaria from Thuringia after the formation of the German Democratic Republic in 1949. This allowed the manufactory to immediately start producing high-quality products in Dresden style sculptures, figurines, crockery, gift sets. Since, first of all, it was a private family business, the owners cared little about marketing and product promotion, finding sufficient demand within the country. In March 2008, the plant was closed.
