Japanese Contemporary Cream Gold Green Porcelain VaseCream Gold by Master Artist

About the Item

Extraordinary Japanese contemporary golden lion ear porcelain vase, featuring two sculpted panels depicting the creatures of ancient Chinese mythology – the phoenix in full flight and the rising dragon. This is a masterpiece by a third-generation master porcelain artist of the Kutani region of Japan – home to some of Japan’s oldest porcelain kilns with 360 years of history. The vase showcases the bold traditional colors of Kutani porcelain and the ample application of high purity gold. The body of the vase is decorated with white plum blossoms and myriad raised gold dots – a traditional Kutani technique – designed to lend the vase a sense of depth. The artist’s profile is available on request. This outstanding porcelain vase comes in a custom made wooden case signed by the artist. Dimensions: H 12.5 in, D 6.5 in.
