Seguso iridescent corrosion green Murano glass vase for Cenadese
About the Item
Murano art glass vase, Seguso for Cenedese, made in Italy in the 1960s.
The vase is made entirely of hand-blown, green-colored glass with an elegant acid-corrosive (corroded) finish that creates a satiny, matte, richly textured surface. The corrosion is uniform and intentional, typical of high-quality Murano production of the mid-century period.
The form is sleek and harmonious, with a molded body and elongated neck that opens into a flared mouth. On the body are reliefs molded directly into the glass, made during hot processing, which give the piece a strong sculptural presence while maintaining an understated and elegant aesthetic.
The vase is unsigned, as was frequently the case with Murano productions destined for the international market in the 1960s.
In terms of stylistic features, glass quality, and processing technique, the piece is Seguso for Cenedese.
Condition: good vintage condition, no cracks, breaks or restoration. Slight signs of time consistent with age and glass corrosion technique.
