Swedish Chamotte Vase with Arrows by Valeria G. Törnberg for Elbogen

About the Item

Unusual and unique cylindrical vase in chamotte clay. Partially unglazed exterior decorated with black arrow and see-through horizontal piercings. The interior is fully glazed for practical reasons. It was designed during the early 1970s by ceramist Valeria Geduscheff-Törnberg. Created at the ceramic studio Elbogen in Malmø Sweden.

The vase has a glossy spicy mustard yellow glaze over a rough rustic body creating a smooth touch but a brutal look to the piece. The Chamotte line was first introduced in the late 1930s.
