    Stunning Belgian decanter by Roger Guérin, who was clearly inspired by Picasso when making this piece. The Decanter was Labeled 'Guérin Bouffioulx' and dates from circa 1930. It has an incised signature and number to the base and is offered in very good condition. Outstanding and Rare piece! Roger Guèrin (1896-1954) was one of the most important Belgian ceramicists in Bouffioulx, close to Charleroi. Typical was his use of flowing glazes in his decorations. True to the history of his region, he often worked in a type of hard ceramic (fired at a temperature of more than 1250 degrees Celsius), which had been made there since the late Middle Ages.
