Wilhelm Schiller & Son Tall Majolica Art Pottery Vase with Fish

About the Item

A large and unusual Austrian majolica art pottery vase decorated with fish swimming amidst seaweed by Wilhelm Schiller & Sohn and dating from around 1900. The tall lightly potted earthenware vase stands on a rounded domed base with a tall bulbous shaped body and rounded bowl shaped top. The vase has two fish swimming amdist seaweed repeated on both sides, the pattern with incised and tube lined application and detail. The vase is hand painted in colored enamels on a blue ground with patterning in black and yellow around the foot and top rim. The vase has a molded WS&S mark to the base and is numbered 14325. In excellent original condition.
