Boxed 1800s Antique Silver Gilt and Enamel Vodka Tots

About the Item

An exceptional, fine and impressive pair of antique Russian silver gilt and enamel vodka tots - boxed; an addition to our range of drinks related silverware These exceptional antique Russian silver gilt vodka tots have a cylindrical form to a plain knopped pedestal and circular spreading foot. The surface of each Russian vessel is embellished with fine and impressive turquoise hot enamel. The gilt silver knopped pedestals are encircled with further hot enamel decoration to the cylindrical stemmed portions. The anterior and interior surfaces of these impressive tots/cups retain the original gilding. These exceptional drinking vessels are fitted to a satin wood presentation box with a velvet and satin lined interior, securing with a hinged clasp. Condition These antique vodka tots are an exceptional gauge of silver, exceptional quality and in exceptional condition. The enamel is in perfect condition. The satin wood box has some wear, however can be considered to be in presentation condition. There are no hallmarks struck to these pieces; the date and origin can be determined by the composition and decoration, in addition to the type and composition of the box. Reflections in photographs may detract from the true representation of these pieces of antique Russian silverware.     An exceptional, fine and impressive antique silver and niello enamel box; an addition to our diverse silverware collection This exceptional antique Persian silver box has a rectangular form, supported with four plain ball feet. The body of this antique box is embellished with impressive niello enamel floral festoon panels, encompassed with fret band decorated borders. The box is fitted with an impressive hinged cover, embellished with further niello enamel decoration incorporating a vacant scroll shaped cartouche to the centre. This exceptional box has been independently tested using state of the art technology (Niton XL2 Analyzer) and verified as 850 standard silver. NOTE: The majority of such boxes have a wood lining; it is a sign of quality when boxes have an unlined, solid silver interior. Condition This antique Persian silver and niello enamel box is a superior gauge of silver, exceptional quality and in exceptional condition. The piece has some natural surface wear in keeping with age. The written Iranian/Persian hallmark has wear in keeping with age; the date can be determined by the composition and decoration.     An exceptional, fine and impressive antique Victorian sterling silver gilt goblet; an addition to our wine and drinks related silverware collection. This exceptional antique Victorian sterling silver gilt goblet has a circular bell shaped form onto a knopped pedestal and circular spreading foot, in the classic pineapple style. The body of this impressive antique silver goblet is composed of chased and embossed lozenge shaped convex panels, replicating the fruitlets/spikes of a pineapple, each ornamented with a quatrefoil-floral design. The decoration to the body incorporates an impressive quatrefoil shaped cartouche displaying the contemporary engraved monogram initials 'HM'. The upper rim is encompassed with an applied band of bead decoration. The waisted pedestal features a circular knop to the centre encircled with further floral motifs. The circular spreading foot is encompassed with a continuation of segmented lozenge panels, reflecting that of the body. This sterling silver goblet retains the original gilding; the gilding to the exterior of the goblet has worn with age in a sympathetic fashion. This exceptional antique Victorian sterling silver gilt goblet has a circular bulbous-shaped form onto a swept pedestal and circular spreading foot. The body of this impressive antique silver goblet is encompassed with a central band of chased and engraved scrolling foliate and floral decoration, incorporating swan and vase ornamentation, all on a matte background. The decoration to the body incorporates an impressive cartouche displaying the contemporary bright cut engraved crest depicting between two arms embowed a sun in splendour. The cylindrical upper rim is encompassed with further scrolling leaf decoration, flanked with an applied dart decorated border to the nadir and a moulded border to the rim. The cast silver waisted pedestal features a spiralling bead design, incorporating scrolling motifs to the upper portion, replicating the details of an architectural column. The circular spreading foot is embellished with impressive cast figural mask designs alternating with layered leaf motifs, all ornamented with further bead decoration. The swept rim of the slightly weighted base is further ornamented with a leaf decorated festoon. This sterling silver goblet retains the original gilding; the gilding to the exterior of the goblet has worn with age in a sympathetic fashion.
