French Silver Plated Cocktail or Serving Tray by Victor Saglier, Paris

About the Item

A magnificent and very stylish tray by the master craftsman, Victor Saglier. French in origin dating to circa 1900, the tray is silver plated having just been professionally cleaned and polished by our silversmith. Victor Saglier (1809-1894) was a master goldsmith, a politician and an English Minton porcelain dealer until 1894. When he passed away, the Victor Saglier Company, located at 12 rue d'Enghein in Paris, became Saglier Brothers. It was run by his brothers Eugène and André until the latter died in 1948. The underside is fully marked V S for Victor Saglier. Excellent condition and quality spanning 15 3/4" handle to handle x 12" x 1" deep. Item: 42934.
