Georgian Lead Glass Tumbler or Beaker Engraved Handblown English, Ca 1800

About the Item

This is a rare English handblown Georgian Large Beaker or Tumbler drinking glass, engraved with a horse drawn carriage, dating to Circa 1800. Large Georgian tumblers or beakers are rare items The glass is handblown and made from lead glass, having a soft greyish colour with a tapering form This piece is beautifully hand engraved with a central horse drawn carriage with other motifs and borders as a continuous engraved design around the tumbler. The base has a polished out pontil. Overall a very good example of rare Georgian glassware in great condition.

    This is a very good English "RUMMER" drinking glass, which were originally drinking glasses used in English taverns in the late 18th and early 19th century.
