Industrial Design Victorian Antique Sterling Silver Cup or Wine Cooler, 1884

Hallmarked in London in 1884 by Aldwinkle and Slater, this stylish, Victorian, Antique Sterling Silver Cup, stands on ball feet, and features 3 loop handles and a gilt interior. The cup in in the Industrialist style, and would make a handsome wine cooler, or could be used as a centrepiece for the table to hold a flower display. The cup measures 6.5"(16.5cm) tall, by 8"(20cm) wide, by 8"(20cm) deep, and weighs 23 troy ounces.

    An exceptional, fine and impressive antique Victorian English sterling silver wine goblet; an addition to our antique wine and drinks related silverware collection This exceptional antique Victorian sterling silver wine goblet has a circular bell shaped form onto a knopped stem and circular spreading foot. The body of this antique silver goblet is embellished with impressive embossed and chased scrolling leaf decoration accented with bead motifs, all on a matte background. The decoration to the body incorporates plain lobed arch designs, composing five vacant cartouches. The upper rim of the drinking vessel is encircled with an applied moulded border. The circular knop to the plain stem is encompassed with applied bead decoration. The swept foot is embellished with further embossed and chased decoration reflecting that of the body and is encircled with an applied band of bead decoration to the rim.     A magnificent, fine and impressive pair of antique Georgian English sterling silver wine coolers made by Paul Storr; an addition to our antique wine and drink related silverware collection These magnificent antique George III sterling silver wine coolers have a classic campania shaped form onto a plain knopped pedestal and domed circular spreading foot. The surface of the upper portion of each body is plain and embellished with two large applied tied oak leaf wreath cartouches, one side bears the contemporary bright cut engraved coat of arms* depicting a pile engrailed with three cross-crosslet fitchy, all surmounted with the crest displaying a cock's head. The second cartouche on each holder bears the contemporary bright cut engraved presentation inscription 'Given to William Rigden, In Remembrance of William Galdork, by W.H.B'. These silver wine bottle holders each have an applied moulded decorated border to the flared rim. The lower bulbous portion of each wine cooler is encompassed with exceptional chased fluted decoration below an applied ribbed border. Each wine cooler is supported by a domed circular spreading foot embellished with a chased egg decorated border and a plain collet style rim.
