Silver-Plated Stepped Up at Deco Cockatail Shaker
About the Item
Art Deco Cocktail Shaker has the stepped-up design that evokes the feeling of the Chrysler Building, or Flash Gordon, or rocket ships, and of so many “futuristic” designs from that period. Nicely silver plated, with an unusual perforated top from which to pour. It is clean in good condition inside and out. Recently restored. The detailed ribbed horizontal treatment adds to the design.
The “stepped up” form found in so many objects of the era such as furniture, light fixtures, skyscrapers, and cocktail shakers are meant to evoke the feeling of ”reaching for the sky”. However, In this case, the” Skyy ” it is reaching for may just be a brand of vodka!.
