John Grinsell & Sons Art Deco Cut Glass and Sterling Silver Mounted Decanter

About the Item

A fine and impressive antique George VI cut-glass and English sterling silver mounted decanter in the Art Deco style; an addition to our silver mounted glass collection. This fine antique George VI cut-glass and sterling silver mounted decanter has a circular shaped form. This antique glass decanter is fitted with a plain and unembellished flared hallmarked sterling silver collar. The decanter retains the original impressive oval shaped cut-glass stopper, in the Art Deco style. The original glass body and stopper of the decanter are embellished with impressive Art Deco style starburst cut-glass ornamentation radiating from the lower central portion and continues across the sides to form a ribbed edge. The body of the decanter is further ornamented with a star cut motif to the underside. Condition This mount of this antique Art Deco style glass decanter is an excellent gauge of silver, fine quality and in excellent presentation condition. Full hallmarks struck to the surface are all very clear.     An exceptional, fine and impressive antique Victorian acid etched glass and English sterling silver mounted claret jug; an addition to our wine and drink related silverware collection. This exceptional antique Victorian sterling silver and cut glass claret jug has a circular, rounded bulbous form. The cylindrical neck of the jug is fitted with an impressive sterling silver, hallmarked mount embellished with impressive chased floral spray decoration on a matte background, all encompassed with a plain border accented with simple drop motifs. The decoration to the mount incorporates an oval vacant cartouche to either side. The underside of the plain spout features a simplified quatrefoil floral motif encompassed with a lozenge shaped border. The mount retains the original hinged, hallmarked cover encompassed with further floral decoration and surmounted with an impressive pierced interlacing scrolling leaf decorated thumb piece.
