His silverwork is one that draws attention to itself, not for its primary purpose, but the bold lines that make its curves and shapes. For this, he won several awards in his lifetime. At the Paris World Exhibitions of 1867 and 1878, he was presented with silver and gold medals respectively. Years later, at the Paris World Fairs of 1889 and 1900, he won the gold medal and Grand Prix respectively and was commissioned to produce important trophies for Monaco’s principality.
