Japanese Antique Serving Bowl 1800s Edo period Koimari ware AkaeKacho
About the Item
This is a serving bowl which was made around 1800s in Edo period.
It is made with porcelain and it's all hand painted.
This bowl was made with Koimari style (Koimari-ware).
The motif which is used is called Akae Kachou. Means, Flowers and Birds with red painting.
This bowl will come with a wooden box.
Ko-Imari is Old Imari. It is a name for one of the kind of Japanese porcelain.
Porcelain decorated with overglaze enamels and influenced by the Chinese Jingdezhen wares with wucai (five color) and kinrande (brocade) decorations began to be produced during the 1690s. This type of ware is known as Ko-Imari style.
