About the Item

This stylish Art Deco centerpiece, serving bowl, or decorative fruit or bread basket was designed in France circa the 1930s. The serving piece features a wood handle ornate with chromed metal beads. The sides are built in wood with chromed metal flat disks and off-white Galalith lines decoration. Two shaped glass panels completing the design are held by the wood structure on each side. The glass panels can be removed from the base for cleaning purposes. This typical Art Deco minimalist design displays perfectly with fresh fruits or is extremely elegant for your next fancy breakfast party for bread, brioche, or croissant. There is no visible maker's mark. The decorative bowl is in good condition, with minor wear throughout, more pronounced on the metal decoration on the sides. Tiny flea bites on the edges of the glass panels are not visible because inside the wood stripes. Measurements: 13.19 in wide (33.5 cm) x 8.50 in deep (21.5 cm) x 8.25 in high (21 cm).
