Art Nouveau Silver-Overlaid Cobalt Blue Glass Centerpiece

About the Item

Art Nouveau silver-overlaid cobalt blue glass centerpiece represents classic elegance in an extraordinary way! The rich deep blue coloration derived from cobalt permeates the glass allowing one to more fully appreciate the form derived from ancient Greek and Roman architecture. Around the base and around the top rim silver has been applied, but the most remarkable silver application is the artistic representation of tulips just inside the rim on the curvature of the interior of the bowl. Ideal for display in the middle of a table, buffet, counter or other surface, it is beautiful with or without any items placed within the confines of the bowl, and represents true artistic craftsmanship at its best! Circa 1895 Measures 7 height x 17.5 in diameter.
