Weed Holders by Robert Beharka, Frank Lloyd Wright Apprentice
About the Item
Seven weed holders made by Robert Beharka (1926-2010). Bob Beharka lived in Los Baños, Ca.
Mr. Beharka was an architect, and former apprentice to Frank Lloyd Wright. Mr. Wright would draw items needed and Beharka would execute them for him. These weed holders were made for FLW but not used. They were part of Beharkas estate. They range in size from 14.75" to 19.5" high and .75" diameter. They are gold painted steel.
Beharka made a name for himself in Los Baños as an architect, designing the Central California Irrigation District headquarters on the southwest corner of Pacheco Boulevard and I Street, as well as the Wolfsen Company headquarters, on the streets northwest corner. Prior to starting his own practice in Los Banos, California, Bob joined the Taliesin Fellowship in 1955, and supervised the construction of the Marden House, Robert Llewellyn Wright House, and the Fawcett House.
