About the Item

Antique early 20th Century English solid silver mounted ceramic match striker, made by Royal Doulton & John Grinsell & Sons. The striker, of a round shape is mounted with a plain silver collar. Due to its size and weight, this versatile match striker can also serve as a paperweight. The ceramic is marked underneath with the Royal Doulton mark. The silver collar is hallmarked English silver, (925 standard), Birmingham, year unknown (year marking is rubbed, however dates to the early 20th Century), Maker John Grinsell & Sons. CONDITION In Good Overall Condition - The silver hallmarks have been rubbed and the rim has wear in keeping with age. Please refer to photographs.
