Particular and interesting pair of vases with a sober Pompeian red color; they fascinate us for their incomparable and elegant plasticity and sobriety; the body is decorated with linear and refined stylized leaves in relief and outlined with pure gold; The pair of vases was made in Art Deco style between 1948 and 1951 in some artisan workshop of Tours in the department Indre et Loire where there was the famous and ancient factory Sainte-Radegonde, specialized and famous for the excellent production of glazed earthenware; Since the vases have extremely accurate workmanship, the gold decorations are perfect and stand out on the background of the beautiful color carefully chosen, we can say with certainty that the craftsman who made them was really a Master who almost certainly collaborated with the Sainte-Radegonde as other small workshops in the area of Tours that produced for the big company. The vases were created with original and old workmanship: the pieces of raw terracotta were first shaped into their final soft and elegant form, then fired at about 1000° C, then the ancient technique of immersion glazing in amaranth glaze was used; The enameling phase requires a lot of skill because it is important that the enamel is deposited in a homogeneous manner on the surface of the object, then we proceeded to a first firing to fix permanently the color, then the artist has performed by hand with meticulous precision the pure gold decorations, a second firing has allowed to fix the beautiful enameling obtaining two original and unique vases. The vases are in perfect condition. Measures diameter cm.18, height cm.33. For all our shipments we use special packaging materials (wooden crates, styrofoam, etc.) for maximum protection and safety of the objects.
