Very rare Goldscheider Vienna figurine of the 1930s: Representation of an elegant lady in a long, tight-fitting, backless dress made of red-black lace with a flared top and part of the skirt swinging out on the floor. She wears her hair pinned up in rolls at the back, holds a powder compact in her left hand and, looking in the small mirror, is powdering her chin with her right hand. The figure is based on the skirt hem without a base, the artist's signature 'Lorenzl' on the underside. Designed by Josef Lorenzl (1892 - 1950), one of the most important designers who worked for the Goldscheider manufactory in the period of 1920 - 1940.
