About

This blue vase is decorated by some stylized friezes on the body of the piece created by Jean de Lespinasse. Signed. Resisting on the French Riviera during the Second World War, Jean de lespinasse created with his wife the Socfra produced ceramics from the end of the 1940s in Nice. Their paths crossed that of Roger Capron and his wife Jacotte, the Madoura workshops, Robert Picault and Georges Tardieu. He and his wife had shops in Saint-Paul de Vence, Sainte-Maxime and Vallauris. All the pieces come from his workshop in Nice, which ceased its activity on his death in 1979. Signed "jdl". The pieces signed by the workshop Jean de Lespinasse are generally large and very structured. One notices especially a great work in enamel, between matte and shiny, which shows a great mastery of the art of ceramics.
