Abigail Griffith’s Rare Lambeth Delft Plate-England, 18th Century

A rare 9" Lambeth Delft plate: "An English Delftware tin-glazed charger attributed to the Abigail Griffith London Lambeth pothouse. Great decorative blue and white delftware- boldly painted in strong inky black-blue with a powerful and dramatic landscape with chinoiserie buildings, hollow rocks and dominating weeping tree. The well of this dish has a typical border of diaper pattern, while the brown edged rim is edged with graphic panel border of stylized mons and diaper. A rare identified example of an eighteenth century English delft pottery plate for the antiques enthusiastic." Antiques Expert Hamilton Bear. There are some edge flakes typical of Delft plates from this period of time. (This item is eligible for a complimentary gift box upon request)

    Minor losses. This 18th century plate is in remarkably fine condition. There are no cracks, however, there are some edge flakes typical of tin glazed ware of this period.
