Large Goldscheider Vienna Art Déco Figure 'Fan Lady' by Stephan Dakon circa 1930
About the Item
Rare Goldscheider ceramic of the 1930s:
The standing young variety dancer is only dressed in a headdress and high heels. Looking to the left over her shoulder, she covers herself in front with a large green fan which she holds in her right hand, on her back in her left hand she holds a long green cloth with a white lace pattern against her hip, which, like a veil, rests on the floor behind her.
On a black, fluted rectangular base with beveled corners.
Designed by Stephan Dakon (1904 - 1992), one of the most important designers who worked for the Goldscheider manufactory from 1924 until the mid-fifties.
Dakon designed this model circa 1928/29.
