Palissy Style Charger with Fishes

About

Inspired by the French Renaissance ceramist Bernard Palissy, Barbizet revived “rustiques figulines” in Paris, following the ceramists in Tours like Charles Jean Avisseau or Joseph Landais. Since the 1860s, his work was as beautiful in quality and originality as this beautiful charger. Many of them considered him as a second Palissy.
