About the creator: Ilona Golovina is the lead designer and artist behind Mugly NYC. Mugly’s handmade ceramics have been produced in Brooklyn since 2020 and emphasize the unpredictability of ceramics including self-foraged materials such as natural clays, minerals, and other techniques inspired by ancient pottery processes. The textures, flaws, and unique variations in these works transform the mundane into things both human and poetic. Golovinia’s work has been exhibited in New York City and Milan, and has been featured in AD Italy and Domino Magazine.
