"Satyrs and Pan, " Large and Important Italian Lamp Base, 1940s

Decorated with several nude pan and satyr figures in a laughing, high-spirited mood, each masterfully glazed in tones of ivory, charcoal, turquoise, teal and cerulean, this magnificent lamp base was created in one of the leading Italian ceramic studios after World War II. Hand thrown and glazed, it is a unique piece of midcentury artisan.
