This is a highly decorative, ironstone, twin handled circular footed Bowl by John Ridgway, dating to the English William 1Vth period, circa 1835 . The bowl has been carefully hand-painted in bold colorful enamels with a chinoiserie pattern of three oriental people travelling on a boat, pattern number 5057. It is also richly hand gilded. John Ridgway operated at his father’s celebrated Cauldon Place works, Shelton, Hanley, England, between 1830-1856, producing some fine porcelain and stone China of excellent quality. His stone China earthenwares and ironstone wares are discussed on page 305 of Godden's Guide to Ironstone, Stone and Granite Wares written by Geoffrey Godden for the Antique Collectors Club. This is a good quality coffee can that we attribute to the Coalport Porcelain works, Shropshire, England, made during the John Rose period of the George 111rd years, circa 1805-1810. The coffee can is nominally parallel, tapering slightly to the base, with a simple loop handle with one lower kink and pointed attachments. It has a shallow foot recess with obtuse corner and is unmarked to the base. The pattern is beautifully hand painted in an all gold gilt floral upper border pattern with further gilding on the body above the base rim, around the upper rim and to the outer handle. Ormolu Mounted From our Ceramics collection, we are delighted to offer a pair of French Sevres boat-shaped porcelain dishes with original ormolu mounts. The serving dishes beautifully decorated with a frieze of vibrant green undulating foliate garlands interspersed with mosaic style classical romanesque cartouches and birds. The inside decorated with gilt scrollwork embellishments with a six point start to the centre. The porcelain raised on four scrolling legs draped with garlands of fruiting vine. The porcelain bearing the Louis Philippe interlaced L's Sevres mark, the Chateau de Fontainebleau mark, incised marks for the original serves blank manufacturing along with initials and finally the painted initials WB. The dishes dated to the first half of the 19th century 1839/1840 respectively. The ormolu mounts stamped to the base CHER.
